Investors and buyers of real estate in Latvia promise to give a residence permit

In the near future, the Diet will consider provision of large investors permission to stay in Latvia. Yesterday, the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Internal Affairs had reviewed all the amendments submitted by deputies to the Immigration Act. It is planned that a foreigner can apply for a temporary residence permit in Latvia, if he shall gain if property worth at least 100 thousand lats in Riga and Riga district and the value of not less than 50 thousand lats outside the area of ​​Riga.

Requests for permission will also be contacted in case if a foreigner, he will invest in the company's share capital is not less than 25 thousand lats and give work to at least three employees.

Perhaps the reason for obtaining a residence permit will receive a loan at the bank of Latvia - in an amount not less than 200 000 lats.

It was also supported by the Commission's proposal for the national economy, agriculture and regional policy, stipulating that in order to be able to apply for a residence permit, the rule of minimum cost in the ownership of the property would fall within the cadastral value of the object.

Also in the final legislation will be introduced rule that apply for a residence permit can be, regardless of the date of investment or purchase.
